Subject: [Scouts] Seabase 2012 trip
Dear all-
Tonight we had our organizational meeting for the Seabase 2012 trip. Based on the meeting, I am planning to enter the Seabase lottery for a “Bahamas Adventure” trip, which will be 1 week of living on a sailboat, and sailing around the Bahamas, including fishing, snorkeling, kayaking, etc. We can go as a group of 10-12 or a group of 6-8, although my goal is to be at either 12 or 8, as this will help keep the cost down. If we do not get a Bahamas trip on the lottery, I will request an “Out Island Adventure” trip, which also has a max of 8 people (Scouts+adults) per crew. The cost for the trip is estimated at $1600-1800, although could be somewhat lower if we do not do any touring and will also depend somewhat on airfare at the time. Estimated dates for the trip will be mid-July (between July 4 and July 25 approx)
At tonight’s meeting, I received deposits from the following:
- Mr Kirschner
- Mr Fulton
- Mr Feuer
- Peter K
- Chris B
- Eli
- Daniel S
- Leland S (n=8)
Also resent at the meeting (and considering going on the trip) were:
- Mrs Kirschner
- Mr Bardwell
- Nick E (n=3)
Missing in action (and hopefully doing much better now) was:
- Daniel L (n=1)
If you are listed above as a ‘maybe’ and have decided if you want to go or not, please let me know ASAP. If you are not on the list and want to go, I also need to know ASAP. For anyone wanting to go, I will need a deposit of $100 by next Monday (Feb 14) so that I can reserve a place.
If I do not get any additional commitments, I will sign up for a trip for 8. If we get 11-12 commitments, we will go for the larger boat.
As always, feel free to email me or call me 252-8720 with questions.
Yours
Mr Kirschner
