Here’s what’s happening in August with Troop 166!

August brings us the incredibly popular Family Camp Out — this year, including invites to interested potential future scouts (boys or girls) — plus, a Court of Honor.

August is also a great opportunity to hear about our summer as everyone comes back together for the start of the school year. We can reflect on an amazing July including the 4th celebration, Northern Tier High Adventure, and our thrilling Rafting camp out.

Monday, August 13, 7:30 – 9 pm. Scout meeting @ Church

All interested adults are welcome to attend the monthly Troop Committee meeting, which handles the ‘behind the scenes’ part of the troop including trip planning, budgeting, coordinating training and fundraising, etc.

Saturday, August 25 – Sunday, August 26: Family and Prospective Scout Camp Out!

Our AUGUST outing will be action packed fun for the whole family and for prospective scouts (boys and girls) and their families to come see what scouting is all about.

Recall, starting next year we have the potential to have a linked girl troop provided there is sufficient interest and support. This is a great opportunity for for siblings (boys or girls) or potential brand new future scouts to meet the troop.

Fun activities include a ROPES course that finishes with a ZIPLINE and other fun outdoor activities for the whole familyincluding a CAMPFIRE!!!

Meet at the Bexley United Methodist Church at 10:00 am on Saturday, return around 11 am on Sunday.

$25 per person includes food, activities, and a place to camp. Maximum charge of $75/family to keep this outing affordable.

Bring your own tent and camping equipment, swim suit, sleeping bag, and mess kit. Contact Mr. Czaja at ian.czaja@troop166.org if you need to borrow any equipment.

Prospective scouts and family attend for free — just let us know in the sign up how many are coming and whether you are staying overnight.

Parents and siblings are encouraged to join their Scouts on this outing to have fun and see what their scouting experience is all about. Where else can you get a weekend of fun adventure and great food for $25 each? Let’s make this a blowout attendance event!
