Here’s what’s happening in August with Troop 166!

Can you believe school is right around the corner? Not to worry, we’ve got a great month ahead in Scouting, including our annual Family Campout — fun activities for everybody in your family and an opportunity to watch your Scout in action!

Monday, July 31, 7:30 – 9 pm. Scout meeting @ church

Monday, August 7, 7:30 – 9 pm. Scout meeting @ church

Monday, August 14, 7:30 – 9 pm. Scout meeting @ church

Saturday, August 19, 10 am – Sunday, August 20, 11 am. Family Camp Out!

Our AUGUST outing will be action packed with a ROPES course that finishes with a ZIPLINE, kayaks, and other fun outdoor activities for the whole family including a CAMPFIRE!!!

Meet at the Church at 10:00 am on Saturday, return around 11 am on Sunday.

$25 per person includes food, activities, and a place to camp. Bring your own tent and camping equipment, swim suit, sleeping bag, and mess kit. Contact Mr. Czaja at if you need to borrow any equipment.

Parents and siblings are encouraged to join their Scouts on this outing to have fun and see what their scouting experience is all about. Where else can you get a weekend of fun adventure and great food for $25 each? Let’s make this a blowout attendance event!

Monday, August 21, 7:30 – 9 pm. Scout meeting @ church and Troop Committee meeting

Monday, August 28, 7:30 – 9 pm. Scout meeting @ church and Board of Review
The Board of Review takes place every month, and it allows those Scouts who have completed all their other rank requirements to complete a final review with uniformed adults to earn their rank.

For those planning ahead, here are the outings planned for the rest of the year:

September 29 – October 1: Canoeing
October 20-23: Backpacking
November 17-19: Pumpkin Chuckin’
December 8-9: Planning Overnight
