Here’s what’s happening in April with Troop 166!

We’ve got a great month of activities in April! See below for details.

All Scouts should join us tomorrow night to vote for the Senior Patrol Leader and other Scout leaders for the next 6 months.

Sunday, April 9, 4 – 6 pm. Friends of Bexley Public Library — Service Hours Opportunity

Monday, April 10, 7:30 – 9 pm. Scout meeting @ church

Saturday, April 15. Easter Egg Hunt @ Jeffrey Mansion
Another opportunity to earn service hours. On the Saturday before Easter we assist the Bexley Recreation and Parks Department to conduct the annual Easter Egg Hunt. We gather (in uniform) at 9:30 AM to set up the field and hide the eggs. We assist with marshaling the crowds and then do cleanup after the event. We’ll also need adults (parents and uniformed leaders) to supervise.

Details to follow in a separate e-mail.

Monday, April 17, 7:30 – 9 pm. Scout meeting @ church and Troop Committee Meeting

Friday, April 21, 6 pmSunday, April 23, Noon. Scout Games Camp Out!

April is the Scout Games camp out. Scouts will enjoy various games and activities that test Scout skills and let the younger Scouts learn new skills from the older Scouts!

Meet at church 6 pm on Friday for departure. Outing is at the Lakota campsite at Chief Logan Scout Reservation. Return to church around noon on Sunday.

Parents are always welcome on every camp out. Because the size of our troop as swelled, we will definitely need 6 adults to either stay or drive.

Cost: $15/person

Meet Friday at 6 pm at Church parking lot

Return on Sunday around noon

Location: Chief Logan Reservation — see sign up for location details.

As usual, travel in Class A uniforms and plan appropriate clothing for the weather.

This will be our first tent camping outing for the year, so pay attention to the weather leading up to the weekend!

If this is your first tent camping outing with the troop, be sure to pack warmer than you think (it always feels colder at night and in early mornings than you think — a winter hat, light jacket, and rain coat make sense almost year round). If you need any camping items, just ask one of the troop adult leaders — the troop has extras of almost everything on hand.

Recommended packing checklist link, trip permission slip link, and other handy links are at the bottom of this e-mail.
