October will be a classic Troop campout: Pie and Ice Cream at Camp Birch. Promises to be beautiful fall weather!
Location: Camp Hugh Taylor Birch, 4057 Swimming Pool Rd, Yellow Springs, OH 45387
What is Pie and Ice Cream campout? It is an adventure filled day outdoors, punctuated with two special events: a lovely hike to eat pie(!) and, after dinner, a trip out for ice cream!
Scouts can either stay in a cabin (PineTree lodge) or tent camp outside the cabin. As usual, wear Class A uniforms for travel, and be sure to pack clothes appropriate to the weather. Consider a winter hat, hooded sweatshirt or jacket, raincoat, and extra socks in preparation for cool nights and chilly mornings.
This outing will be open to Webelos and their parents as well. They will be our guests in order to help them learn more about our boy scout troop.
Cost will be $30 / attendee covering all activities (including Pie and Ice Cream) as well as access to the cabin. (And if your scout is more the triple-chocolate sundae type than the single scoop type, he is welcome to bring a few extra dollars of his own money to upgrade his ice cream on Saturday night!)
