What’s Happening in Scouting now through the end of March!

We have a TON of great activities for Scouts now through the end of March — opportunities for community service hours, camping, and FUN!

Monday, February 23, 7:30 to 9:00pm: Troop Meeting and Parent’s Meeting

We’ll use the Parents Meeting to plan the new Scouts crossing over later this month and for the MANY upcoming activities.

Thursday, February 26, 6:00 to 8:00pm: Blue and Gold Banquet

Come celebrate the Webelos II Scouts who will be earning their Arrow of Light badge and crossing over into our troop. We need a few Scouts in Class A uniform to help with the Crossover Ceremony then join the Pack for dinner at 6 PM and to stay for the entertainment afterwards. Saturday, February 28th, 9:00 to 11:00am: Maple Tapping
Meet arborists from the City of Bexley and our maple syrup consultant at Jeffrey Park to learn how to identify tap maple trees and install buckets for sap collection.  Attending Scouts should be in Class A uniform. Click the title above for additional details and to sign up.

Monday, March 2nd, 7:30 to 9:00pm: Troop Meeting
Friday, March 6th, 5:30pm to Saturday 9:00am: Homeless for a Night – Bexley Sleep Out

Mothers Helping  Mothers is conducting the Bexley Sleep Out, to raise money and help build awareness of the struggles of the homeless.   The Sleep Out will take place on Friday, March 6th, 2015 on The Jeffrey Mansion lawn, near the pool.  There will be a kickoff event from 6-10 PM, which will include speakers, music, food, games and bonfires.  After that we will can sleep out under the stars or in tents, to gain a better understanding of what it feels like to not have a warm bed at night. The event will end at 9:00 AM on March 7th.
Scouts will assist with putting up tents, monitoring fires and provide general assistance.  Scout will receive service hours for their participation.

Saturday, March 7th, 7:00am until dark: Maple syrup production
Work with our maple syrup consultant and with other volunteers to evaporate the maple sap and turn it into maple syrup.  It takes 42 gallons of sap to make a gallon of syrup!  Attending Scouts should be in Class A uniform. Click the title above for additional details and to sign up.

Monday, March 9th, 7:30 to 9:00 pm: Court of Honor and New Parents Welcome
Do you have any pictures and/or videos of our Troop from 2014?  At the Court of Honor ceremony in March there will be a slide show of the past year — events, outings, meetings, etc. to show all the fun the boys had. If you have photos or videos you’d like to contribute, please upload them to this Google Drive folder:  https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/#folders/0B35SediecL-xfjF6cjZTUi1GY2lzNzFFR3lNRGtGbjZhUGFxS19fUmhYRzZ0WXhld3hOZlU

Friday, March 27th, 6:00pm to Sunday noon: Cat and Mouse campout
Welcome our new incoming Scouts and their parents to their first campout! Cabin camp overnight on Friday and Saturday. Scouts spend Saturday playing Cat & Mouse — a cross between orienteering & capture the flag. Click the title above for additional details and to sign up.
