See What’s Happening in Scouting in February and Sign Up!

We have a number of great opportunities for Scouts this month! Many opportunities for community service hours and a ton of FUN!

This Sunday, February 8:
– Scout Sunday, the day when families and Scouts are asked to show support for our chartering organization, the Bexley United Methodist Church, by participating in services in Class A uniform. Sign up for 9 am, 11 am or both at this LINK

– Philmont preparation @ 5 pm at the Church, for those going to Philmont this summer

– SEABASE information session @ 6 pm at the Church, for Scouts and parents who wish to learn about the summer 2016 high adventure. SEABASE has locations in the Florida Keys, Bahamas, and U.S. Virgin Islands so how can you go wrong? (any Scout who will be 14+ by summer 2016 or 13+ and finished with 8th grade is eligible)

February 21st, 9:00 to 11:00am: Maple Tapping
Meet arborists from the City of Bexley and our maple syrup consultant at Jeffrey Park to learn how to identify tap maple trees and install buckets for sap collection.  Attending Scouts should be in Class A uniform.

February 21-22: Skiing at Mad River
Scouts and their families can get discount lift tickets, rental packages and lessons on Sunday the 22nd. Save the date! And look for an upcoming e-mail with more details.

February 28th, 7:00am until dark: Maple syrup production
Work with our maple syrup consultant and with other volunteers to evaporate the maple sap and turn it into maple syrup.  It takes 42 gallons of sap to make a gallon of syrup!  Attending Scouts should be in Class A uniform.
