An Important Announcement from Mr. Fulton

When parents thank me for what I do in Scouting, I accept their thanks but I tell them that I enjoy doing it.

At the end of this year I will have been Scoutmaster for 6 years.

Over the years that I have been with the troop, I have been to two National Jamborees, Philmont, Sea Base and I’ve just returned from my second trip to Northern Tier. I have done summer camp, July 4th, the Labor day cookout, harvest festival, and Easter Egg Hunts each year. I’ve done over 50 weekend outings.

I have had the honor to be involved in the path to Eagle of 6 young men who have completed the rank and several more who are well on their way.

As I have said before, there is a natural progression of Scouts and Adult leaders through the troop, so I have decided that while I am still enjoying it, I will be stepping aside as the Scoutmaster by the end of the year.

It is my hope that the troop committee and the chartering organization would allow me to continue with the troop in some other position, but the primary responsibility for the conduct of the outdoor program and the training of youth leaders, the primary responsibility of the Scoutmaster, will pass to someone else.

Thank you for your help, support and kind words.

 Mr. Fulton
